We are so excited for the 4th of July! Here are some of the best free 4th of July activities in the Triangle for 2021.

Archer Lodge

4th of July Celebration

Saturday, July 3, 2021 

6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

The celebration will have live music (6 p.m. – 9 p.m.), food trucks(6 p.m. – 10 p.m.), and fireworks. 

Admission is free. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs. Check out the link above for more information. 

Cary

Independence Day Celebration

Sunday, July 4, 2021 

Gates open at 3:30 p.m.

General admission seating is FREE to the public. Limited number of 6 and 4  seat tables will be available for purchase. With each table purchase will include a free preferred parking pass and a serving of Lumpy’s ice cream. No other activities will be provided this year other than food options. There is limited capacity inside the venue. Once maximum capacity is reached, entry and re-entry may be denied. Click here for the whole schedule and more information.

Clayton

Square-To-Square Independence Day Festival 

Saturday, July 3, 2021

11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

In downtown Clayton, Town Square to Horne Square, there will be an Independence Day Festival! There will be activities, games, music, frozen treats, bicycle parade, fire trucks, balloon animals, FREE Snow Cones, FREE watermelon and family-friendly attractions. Click here for more information.

4th of July Laser Light Show

Saturday, July 3, 2021 and July 4, 2021

9 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. 

The light show is a FREE event at Durham County Memorial Stadium Lot, 750 Stadium Drive. Reserve your spot starting June 7th at 9 a.m. on their website. Enjoy the light show from your car or lawn chair. Check out the link above for more information. 

Garner

Independence Day Celebration 

Saturday, July 3, 2021 

Gates open at 5 p.m.

The FREE event will be held at Lake Benson Park, 921 Buffaloe Road, Garner. Parking will be first come first serve and masks are encouraged for those who are not vaccinated. Social distancing is highly recommended. Activities include: food vendors, kids crafts, live music, performance by NC Symphony, and fireworks. Raleigh

The City of Raleigh 4th of July Fireworks Show 

Sunday, July 4, 2021

Gates open at 6 p.m. 

Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m. 

Fireworks will light up the sky near the Carter-Finley Stadium and PNC area in Raleigh. The show will last around 20 minutes. There will be no vendors or food. Free parking in the PNC lot, NC Fairgrounds and Carter-Finley lots.

Smithfield

Selma All-American Festival 

Friday, July 2, 2021 

Gates open at 6 p.m.  

End time: 10 p.m.  Celebrate the nation’s birth at Blackstone Plaza for FREE. The Fantasy Band will perform live. Free watermelon slices, a pie eating contest, and kids zones will be provided. Azteca Market, Kandy, and more will be available for food and treats. Fireworks will be set off at 9:15 p.m. For best viewing, watch at Tractor Supply, Temple Baptist and Blackstone Plaza. Wake Forest

Fireworks Spectacular

Saturday, July 3, 2021

Gates open at 7:30 p.m. 

Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. 

This public event will be held inside Husky Stadium, 1150 Forestville Road. The pre-show full of performances can be viewed on the Town’s Facebook page. For those not attending in person, the firework show will be live streamed via Facebook at 9:30 p.m. Check out the Town’s website for more info.
