With the 4th of July quickly approaching us, it is certain that fun times and great cookouts are ahead! I don’t know about you, but one of our favorite things to do as a family on this holiday weekend is watch the fireworks! There are so many great places to see an amazing fireworks show around Clayton, so don’t miss out this year! Here are some of the best shows you can catch around the area.

1. Town of Clayton

 On Wednesday, July 4th, the Town of Clayton is having their annual Independence Day celebration! This is a family friendly event with so many great activities! After field events, cornhole tournaments, and good food, the fireworks show will be the best in Clayton! It’s going to be held in Municipal Park starting at 4PM. 2.  Archer Lodge Family Fun Day

This jam-packed day will be such a blast! Start celebrating July 4th early with this day full of fun activities planned. It will be held on Saturday, June 30th, starting with a 5K run in the morning at 7AM, leading into the other events starting at 3PM! This event is co-sponsored by One27Homes, and will include a 5K, a parade, games, food, and ends with a great fireworks show! Stop by on June 30th for a day of family fun!

3. Garner Independence Day Celebration

This evening of fun would be a great event to bring the whole family to! On Tuesday, July 3rd, Garner is having an Independence Day Celebration fueled by concessions, games, crafts, and so much more! 4. Smithfield’s Fourth of July Celebration

Downtown Smithfield would be a great place to hang out on Sunday, July 1st! They’re having their Fourth of July Celebration a few days early with food trucks, face paintings, hula hoops, and the cherry on top- fireworks! For those of you who live in Tralee, this is the perfect show for you! It’ll be located in Downtown Smithfield starting at 6PM!

5. Carolina Mudcats Game

Want an All-American Independence Day experience? Enjoy your night by going to a Carolina Mudcats game in Zebulon and have a hotdog, watch some baseball, and wrap it all up with a fireworks show! They’re having a hot dog eating contest on the field and the Special Edition largest fireworks show of the season, so you don’t wanna miss this fun at Five County Stadium! 6. Knightdale Station Park

The Knightdale July 4th Celebration will be held from 5-10PM, with a special concert from The Embers and will feature an amazing fireworks show to end the night at 9:15! For some of our Riverwood residents, this fun night would only be about a 10 minute drive for you! They will have shuttles starting at 4PM.

7. Selma’s All-American Festival

Selma’s family friendly all-american festival would be a great way to spend your Tuesday night! They will have great food, special events, a children’s area, and fireworks at the end of the night (9:30PM)! The festival begins at 5PM on July 3rd, so don’t miss out!

8. Kenly’s 4th of July Celebration

If you’re looking for the “largest fireworks show in the area”, go out to the Kenly 95 Petro for food, big fireworks, and a DJ! The fireworks will start at 9PM, but you can enjoy the whole night out there with the other events beginning at 7:30PM.
