Guest post by Rachel Leeworthy – Pro REALTOR® and Amateur Pickleballer 🤣
As an avid pickleball enthusiast and REALTOR® with RiverWILD Real Estate, I couldn’t be more excited about Clayton’s latest addition to our thriving community—brand-new pickleball, tennis, and bocce courts! Our town continues to grow and offer fantastic amenities, making Clayton an even more incredible place to live, play, and connect.

Dink – Volley – Ace!
Not to be confused with dodgeball’s dodge, duck, dip, and dive, pickleball is taking our area by storm! Speaking of storm, barring the recent snowstorm, the new courts are due to open today, February 21st. The Clayton Parks and Recreation will officially open the new courts at Clayton Community Park (715 Amelia Church Rd.). With eight pickleball courts, four tennis courts, six bocce ball courts, and six shuffleboard courts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Plus, a new paved walking trail connects this area to Phase 1 of Clayton Community Park, making it even easier to get out and stay active.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Play hours are 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM daily.
- Bocce ball sets can be signed out at the Clayton Community Center front desk during normal business hours (shuffleboard sets will be available soon!).
- These courts are open to all, whether you’re a seasoned player or brand new to the game.
If you’ve never tried pickleball, now’s the perfect time to grab a paddle and jump in! This sport is easy to learn, incredibly social, and a fantastic way to stay active. Whether you’re looking for a friendly match or some serious competition, the new courts provide a welcoming space for everyone.
This is Why I Love Calling Clayton My Home!
This is just another reason why Clayton is such a wonderful place to call home. Our town is investing in recreation and community spaces that bring people together and enhance our quality of life. As a local Clayton REALTOR®, I see firsthand how amenities like these add value to our neighborhoods and make Clayton an even more desirable place to live.
So, who’s up for a match? Let’s break in these new courts together! If you see me out there, be sure to say hello—I’ll have my paddle ready!
